If you buy a standalone kinect it will come with everything necessary to plug it into a pc but with an xbox bundle it just comes with the high powered usb port plug and you have to pay MS £25 for the priviledge to connect it up to an older xbox 360 (or pc). I can see why they did it as there's a lot of waste sending out a few million cables with new xboxes that don't need them.
