Adding gif avatars and/or increasing the file size limit.

Hi guys,

Would it be possible to add support for gif images to be used as avatars? Or is it deliberately not added because it would be too flashy or distracting for readers? I only ask because I usually like using the same avatar for all forums I use and have only recently started editing/completing my profile on this site, so sorry if this has been discussed before.

I've noticed the filesize limit is 50kb so it it will have at least double, since my usual 100x100gif is about 100kb or if bandwidth is an issue, add the ability to hot link avatars.

I'll repay by personally making gif avatars for everyone

Animated gif's do work but XenForo resizes them on the fly to fit in with the forum formatting, so they'll only be animated if you look at a persons profile. If you have a look at my profile on the forums you'll see my original avatar is way bigger than the one presented in posts. Sorry to be the bringer of bad news!

It's not really an issue then , I'll see if I can get the file-size down to 50kb, I guess a static version with the option to view it animated would probably be a better idea.

In the meantime, everyone meet my Mass Effect 2 Character "Bastard Shepard", this is him after receiving the award for most original name.
