Borderlands So far

So how you guys finding Borderlands so far?

So far I've found single player to be a wee bit easy, whereas the multiplayer version much harder for seemingly very little gains. I think this might mostly stem from trying to fight stuff that is just too many levels above us.
Also Second Wind abuse is ridiculous, you can let something kill you with a sliver of life left, kill it and get some health and full shields to rinse and repeat!
I even managed to get a second wind on the final boss by killing something that was there! was hilarious that I just randomly seemed to get that Second Wind, but after that I understood what I needed to hit in order to have that happen :)
I managed to get to the 2nd playthrough stage in about 29 hours playtime :D
I'm now level 38-39 hunter and I'm still using a level 22 orange revolver as my main weapon :D
Oh and I really loved Old Haven :D so much fun, I made lots of cash here the hard way
See you guys at the weekend for more Borderlands madness!

i have gotten somewhat bored of borderlands for almost the same reasons that you have just said. i havent played coop yet as i dont know anyone who has it on xbox :(. im happy to buy it for pc for the lan.

cars are a pain to use, against infantry the guns are useless and it is easier to kill by running them over, against vechiles the turrent is useless also, when your driving the turrent is controlled by the steering making tailgaters impossible to hit and if you jump to the turrent your a sitting duck as everything can harm the car

i found a neat trick for 2nd wind, i was about to die and i decided to throw a grenade at point blank (i use nades that explode on impact), i killed myself but i also killed the stag that was mauling me giving me an intant second wind. so far my record of chained second winds is 7.

to be honest it needs to be made more difficult, it is good fun and there are lots of very cool details.

It also needs extensive expansion, and possibly the levelling time increased, also gaining weapons should be slanted more towards difficult fights rather than randomly in boxes.

For example I currently know of a way to farm level 31-34 weapons that is so stupidly easy I now have an entire inventory of orange weapons!
Although I'm still searching for an elusive orange masher revolver :D

There is also a DLC in the pipeline :D hopefully it will be considerably harder than current content.

The levelling grind that might take a considerably amount of time is most certainly going to be the weapons prof thing. Highest I've got atm is revolver at like 21 with next highest being SMG at 12! kinda shows which weapon I use most :D

Sniper rifle all the way - pop the heads from a mile out :)

I think they probably made it not too difficult just for the reason that it's not a grind fest but rather make it fun. I've only got my Hunter to lvl12 so far but I agree more content and a tweaking of the drops would be good.

level 44 now! found a silly way to level quickly... I'm too used to farming things! I can't help notice the easy way to do stuff :)

basically it boils down to not handing in boss quests and farming the boss.

I'm on the second playthrough and at the start of the new area there is a boss you have to put bait out for.

40k xp per kill and time to reset and complete is about 5 mins or so provided you are quick and dont screw up ;D ( I was tired this morning and died twice :D)

There is also the boss where you get the mine gate key, its a short stretch to get to the boss and there are like 4 weapons cache's on the route :D but thats like 15k for the boss and extra for the trash to get to him.

Yeah I’m referring to Dioxin as Farmer Reid now, no matter what the game he seems to find an exploit or flaw to take advantage of to level quicker!

If he had a Farmville account he'd find some method of purchasing over 2000 spades which then takes an integer into minus value or something meaning increased crop yield for an hour or some sorta scheme for getting more gold by selling trees to cows or something (don't play Farmville myself so apologies if that’s utterly incorrect!)

psh its not cheating! Its more than likely slightly intentional!

In Diablo2 you used to farm bosses for drops, but this game you need to farm chests.

And regards the fast levelling, as I was going through the game I took some time out of mission running to run around Old Haven wiping out all the dudes in there, then selling off all the drops. Its good fun as some of them are a tad difficult, in doing so I levelled up 3 or 4 times which made going back to the missions stupidly easy :-(

gief harder content plx (I also got lucky on a couple of store purchased weapons :D)

EDIT saying that about harder content starting from scratch as a 4 man team is much more difficult

yeah unfortunately, I didn't want to say it and prompt peeps to not form thier own opinions, but to me the game feels immensely lacking

Its supposed to be 100 Hours of gameplay... that I can realistically complete in 40 hours.

BEFORE YOU READ THE REST OF THIS! play it 4 player multiplayer! tbh its the only way it should be played!

GRIPES!:
level up too quickly
Skill points lacklustre
special ability underpowered
replayability limited(cant reset quest)
boss mobs too easy
no random encounters
only one vehicle
only 4 classes, of which one seems heavily gimped.
Lack of customisation
Money has zero value
Travel is clunky
inability to select anyform of difficulty setting.
lacklustre customisation of each character.

Dont even get me started on the multiplayer failings!

its a game that allows massive expansion... but the issue is that I've arrived at the first end so quickly and there is very little to persuade me to continue cept to get the other toons to level 50....

bleh, I've had my say now.... BUT its SUCH an awesome looking game, they just needed to polish the game play!
