I came across in the steam forums, 2 fan made patches for the above games.
What do they do?
Returns the music to the games that only worked if you the game disc in your dvd drive...
And updates the gfx as well (res etc)

Just change the install path to where you installed the games (x:\steam\steamapps\common\quake) as its defaults to C:\
