They are still having some issues with it on various motherboards so if i were you i'd just go for a standard ssd. Its hardly like they are slow or anything.

I don't know much about SSDs as I'm leaving them for a bit until the bigger sizes are cheaper. But from what I read TRIM support is something that's much better to have than not.

Iv tried SSD with no trim, its total 2MB/s once you have written to every cell once.

Yeah I might leave it for now. I haven't checked out new hardware since early 2008, so I have no idea what to do for a HDD now. If I get a job at some point, I might get the new Velociraptor, or a decent SSD.

I've just splashed out on a set of Seagate Momentus XT drives, will let you know how I get on with them. If you are still sitting on the fence come November you can have a product demo :)
