Hey guys ive just not long ago gone up the Dundee Law which is a very big hill in Dundee with thousands of houses sournding it and i used a new high power wifi device i recently baught and picked up over 200 networks  ...it was a fun little geeky experiment i did and now i cant wait to get my bigger antenna! and do the test again lol.

Im Shocked at how many people still leave there AP wide open lol .. and using old encryption which is easy hackable lol.

might post up the result later.

Just and update. The results are in lol.

41 Wide Open Networks = silly people :D
74 WEP = OK but hackable lol.
80 WPA = the best but not for long :D

and i just read today that they can crack the basic WPA TKIP lol.

LOL, thats worst than the wifi network i found at Hastings on holiday. It had no encryption, heck I could even hack the router by using the default username and password (well it was a netgear)

Not everyone cares about security though, plus it makes the age old fair use defence that someone else stole your wifi and downloaded that 1tb of content that the RIAA is now sueing you for plausable ;)

I'm pretty sure I read somewhere that that excuse doesn't cut the mustard these days. Defence by ignorance doesn't work.
