Overclocking

That chip is a good overclocker, I'd expect you could get to 3.6 or 3.8ghz quite easily. I will post some overclocking 101's when I get home from work. But in short, if your PC is working, I'd recommend you do your OC'ing and your stability testing before coming to Breach, otherwise you'll end up wasting most of the LAN, as overclocking is basically trial and error.

What PSU do you have out of interest and what sort of graphics card are you running, just wondering because when you start to overclock your 125w CPU suddenly requires more, much more :)

Edit - Dug this up quickly for you :)

AMD website says 500w or greater, so you should be ok with that, though if you have not ordered the PSU yet I'd say get a 750 or an 850 to give you some room to grow. If you run your PSU flat out, they wear out faster. They are also more efficient when not running flat out too :)

If you have already got it ordered, or it's sitting on your desk ready to be installed then I'd say you'll be fine :)

That's definately a respectable overclock! :)

Don't forget you will need to have run prime and other burn in tests for a few hours to make sure it's stable, but all the same welcome to the 4ghz club! Did you did up any awesome guides or did you just follow stuff that I'd linked you to?

I really need to sort my OC out properly as 3.8 stable, on water is a little conservative me thinks ;)

Dam :( yeah thats to hot lol, i found mines out to be unstable but im not sure about voltages etc :(

Your AMD warranty is valid up to 1.5v on the CPU. Did you overclock your memory first and find the limit of that before clocking up the CPU? Either way you could try bumping the voltage up by 0.025v at a time until you find stability?

Even if you did find a guide, every CPU and ram combo is different, it is, I'm afraid a rather time consuming process.

You could try installing AMD overdrive and letting it autotune for a few hours?
