If I'd known that crap was on there I wouldn't have bought any of their games.

As much as i hated this DRM, gamers have brought this level of over the top security on themselves.

Handheld piracy losses are estimated at 41 Billion dollars also.

I can totally understand why dev's would be willing to try anything to protect thier lifes work, as much as i can also bitch and complain about it being a pain in the arse.

Thing is, probably around 90% of the people who pirate a game/movie would NEVER pay for it whether or not they pirated it in the first place, this on top of the fact that it has been PROVEN that if someone buys a game either them or the people around them are then more likely to buy sed game then before (word of mouth e.t.c), which means that the actual figure they 'lost' is tiny (if any) in comparison.

Also a gamer has every right to 'bitch and complain' about stupid DRM such as Ubisofts as it is a proven to fail method of protecting their games. It was proven years and years ago and then backed up recently (before them) by EA with Spore, the best method to reduce piracy and get people to buy your game is TO MAKE A GOOD GAME. Give gamers an incentive to buy it and they will. Look at MoH for example, the amount of people I know who pirated that game is quite large, and just about every one of them their reason was (online is shit and the SP is too short to balance it out). If a gamer does not think a game is worth their money they won't buy it. It is not the publishers place to try and wall us in to giving us money (because it does not work, look at HAWX2), it is their place to put pressure on the developers to MAKE A GOOD FUCKING GAME.

I totally agree with Daniel. I think Developers have every right to protect their work and be paid when they do a good job or creating a game that everyone wants to play. I know the DRM stuff created a few issues but I blame the pirates for that, not the developers. Their hands were tied when people stole their work... and it is stealing.

Actually it's been proven to not be stealing as they aren't actually depriving them of the item. People who are taken to court are taken over copyright infringement not theft.

DRM gives more trouble to people who actually buy the games. I've had trouble with games crashing and not working due to the DRM. Pirates don't have this problem, they are getting a better gaming experience. I'm fine with DRM as long as it doesn't affect the actual game or cause problems with my PC.
