I require a Motherboard that has socket 775, 4 DDR2 ram slots, 1x pci express x16 and 3 pci slots (case too small for bigger mobo).

The reason is that my parents pc is having issues with aol not working on vista (you heard) and crashes when I install XP from the disc (BSOD at the Windows is Starting screen before this one). The problem with aol can be solved with a vista compable router, sod that!

If no one has one, links to new ones will be most welcome.

sod it, works fine ish under vista/7....

I'll just get a new hdd (sounds like its going to die...)

and didn't help that a ram stick wasn't in correctly...

Random lockups and blue screens can often be tributed to ram problems, it's either that or power / mobo. Ram is often the easiest to test, well that and making sure that your ram timings are set correctly ;)

ok but I can do nothing about the timings of ram in the BIOS, only boot order and disable/enable onboard sound etc and its a MSI mobo that isn't on their site (some OEM crap)

Given up on it as a Dell Dimension 8400 I found in the tip does a fair better job (after modding the life out of it XD)
