I've been playing on non beta servers through the beta, it does work, it's just dependant on the version of dayZ that's running. Myself and Shaggy tend to play on UK7 a lot of the time which is a beta server so just a heads up on that :P

I get roughly 30fps with it dropping to 10fps at certain points, mostly in the cities, this is only on the DayZ servers however.

The spawning thing is to do with your character not being properly saved, I dunno why it's happening but I had found a lot of good stuff, logged out at the large airfield and when I logged back in I had reverted to an earlier save where I still had a Lee Enfield and makarov instead of my cz550...
