Due to health reasons i can't really stay up that late and with the travel time going from about 10 mins to 30+ it does have a noticeable effect. Staying overnight isn't really an option i have and i wouldn't want to have to get someone to give me a lift home earlier than they want to...

Whats doing what thing? if you have been having any instability the default thing is to run everything at stock settings and use prime95 or something similar to put abnormal load on the cpu and ram and monitor that for a few hours. Have you ran overclocked for long? What cpu/motherboard/ram...

They are still having some issues with it on various motherboards so if i were you i'd just go for a standard ssd. Its hardly like they are slow or anything.
