Build Log (Project Frenulum)

If anyone was horribly worried, I haven't and wont be on-line for a while because everything has been painted and is ready to be rebuilt but the rebuilt requires a few pieces of steel bar, some araldite a fair bit of drilling and a shed load of time that I don't have right now. I will post some pics of the new painted stuff when I have some time and hopefully get the majority of the rebuild done over the weekend so only the visual stuff will need to be done (meaning I have a working computer again)

Computer is still in bits but have fabricated the steel brackets for the front panel and reservoir support so construction can finally commence again. Just need to drill out a few things and the rebuild can start! Damn this has been slow going. Hope nothing has happened in the last month.

Well folks, my weekend was spend working on my computer for about 20 hours which means that it is almost complete. I plugged my phone into the stereo after a bit so that stopped me taking photos but you should get the idea. I also got fed up by 5:00 on Sunday so there are no pics of the completed illuminated system. Only the window needs completing now as the perspex I bought is a bit too thick to work.

Test fabrication of steel sections out of plasticard. Not going to fab up anything out of steel before doing a test section! This is how they fit into the case too.

Steel brackets fabricated to hold the front section on.

Steel sections attached to the front section using Araldite, god I love that stuff!

The front section wasn't fitting flush with the rest of the case so made some spacers out of some spare 1mm steel plate (can just make them out between the front section and the top steel sections.

And there we have it, after an 8 hour cure time a fully bonded front section with arms to fit onto the body of the case.

Let this be a lesson to everyone, be careful when drilling. Its a bitch.

A few quick photos of the semi finished thing. I will take some more decent shots when I have time and am not so tired.
