Fun times ... yeah maybe not

My SSD died, despite not even being 6 months old, should've gone Corsair rather than OCZ - lesson learnt! Anyways, I've stuck Ubuntu on a spare HDD until the RMA gets sorted out and am tearing my hair out trying to get EVE to work on here, anyone got any experience? I've gone through numerous forums, it looks like the issue is to do with localisation but as this is my first experience with anything Linux (other than a couple of aborted attempts many years ago) I'm finding it quite hard going to get my head around terminal commands.
So yeah, if you don't see me online for a few days that's basically why :D

Ubuntu - there are things like "Play on linux" and cedega which may help you out. Basically you want to install the game using Wine. It should be pretty straight forward to install and get it to run using Wine. Have a look on the Ubuntu forums :)

What model of SSD do you have? I got a Vertex 2 3.5" 120GB

Seriously? Great Minds Think Alike .. and I thought you were like uber-geek :p

I hadn't read the EVElopedia article but have done everything it suggests to start the game with no joy ... yet! I will persevere though, until I get it work and find it's crap, and then back to W7 we go!
