How to bring UK internet to it's knees

Given that digital switch-over for TV has only just about finished, and DSO for radio isn't likely to happen before 2015 at the earlies, I can't see this happening anytime before 2020 at the very earliest, probably even much later than that. Plenty of time for fibre to become the standard and the freed up spectrum to be used for more efficient methods of wireless transmission, it certainly won't bring the internet to it's knees.

Yes but you're forgetting one thing, there will still be lots of areas who don't have the bandwidth to stream tv for potentially a whole family who would lose out and also ISP caps would have to be lifted a lot for this to work.

Bearing in mind I work for the company that provides all of the infrastructure that enables terrestrial broadcast, I can tell you for a fact that it's no even on the menu to essentially teardown the whole system, it's going to be a long way off if it ever does happen so grab your copy of THHGTTG and don't panic! :)
