That is a very long-winded way of doing it, Steam has a built-in defrag utility (If I remember correctly one or both of the VALVe co-founders prettey much developed the defrag utility in Windows too, so they know what their doing.)

Right click a game -> Properties -> Local Files -> Defragment cache files

yes but if you got 142 games on steam (like me), that takes too long, this work around does the whole lot at once

Thats why there are products such as O&O Defrag which tend to do much better than the built in windows defrag tool?

Hmmmmmmm

I know, il go to a website that ive never heard of, download a .zip with several .exe and .dll files and put those extracted files in my steam folder.

And the maker of that video says "dont ask what it is or what it does" or words to that effect.

I dont think so. They could contain any number of things. From annoying adware, to something much more serious. Say a keylogger. Or something that will upload your clientregistry.blob file to a remote website or some hacks which will trigger a VAC ban.

I think il pass on that one thanks. <-------- Click Me
