If you're wanting something quite heavy give Machine Head, Lamb of God or In Flames a listen. For something a bit more 'rocky' Dream Theatre, Tool or A Perfect Circle.
I'm listening to the new Korn album at the minute. They have collaborated with a whole bunch of dubstep artists for the release, and it works REALLY well.
Queens of the Stone Age, System of a Down, Rage Against the Machine, Radiohead, 12 stones, Them Crooked Vultures
Just a few of my favourites

Coheed and Cambria <--- an absolute must
At The Drive in
Breaking Benjamin
A Day To Remember
Hundred Reasons
Millencolin
Pitchshifter

If you don't mind being the melding of completely inappropriate genres and being unable to sing along unless you learn Japanese, then Maximum The Hormone can be a treat. They're categorised as nu metal, but they tend to mix it with punk, hard rock, pop and a little funk. Here's a couple of tunes:
Along this sort of lines you might want to like out a few other j-rock banks.
http://youtu.be/PTC3zoXMrIg <- exist trace. Their older stuff is a lot darker but the last few ep's have been fairly mainstream http://youtu.be/RWc_GcUYJcU <- megaromania. A bit like a japanese dream theater. http://youtu.be/3s10rM95W-4 <- screw. has a bit of a nu-metal bullet for my valentine type of sound to it. Unfortunately a lot of their music is bland but it doesn't hurt to have a few tracks from a band. http://youtu.be/ALOlrsZfJgE <- loudness ... been around for a loooong time.. think megadeath style. http://youtu.be/XDARAMkvjMM <- the gazette . one of the bigger bands of this type in japan. pretty heavy. http://youtu.be/T03kUZNlTDg <- Kra.. may be the most likely to please you based on the original post. http://youtu.be/b4HANHf0k8c <- back-on. most of their stuff is a bit like a japanese linkin-park without the screaming bits from some tracks on hybrid theory.
and as of the past few months i've been listening to a lot of vocaloid created stuff mainly based around hatsune miku. There's more on nico nico douga than on youtube but it is quite hard work navigating around (初音ミク - hatsune miku / 巡音ルカ Megurine Luka will get you pretty far)
hatsune miku: http://youtu.be/6hvGoxhglKc http://youtu.be/PGG70LW7HfY <- give it 50 secs or so to kick in
megurine luka: http://youtu.be/rqHzFI9Cxs4 http://youtu.be/gHmrsB35p-0
