Also the game breaking lag seems to be linked to people disconnecting, I had a look on the MWO forms and nothing official but a few threads point out it only happens when people start to leave.

the games De-sync at about 6 mins in (IF it lags...) and is made worse by people leaving for whatever reason however people seem to be saying its linked to a memory leak or something

Groups are capped at 4 people now the rest will be made of pugers or incomplete groups.

I guess for most people this wouldn't spoil team play too much? Do you think this is a good decision?

I'd say better to only match premade to premade groups.
