would be interesting to see the price per points ratio on some of these setups.
So Points for Cloudgate divided by the total cost of motherboard, cpu, ram and gpu

For me:
40.63 points per pound spent.

I think one of the hardware review websites did this for many of the GPUs out there but they did it through FPS of different games from memory I think and AMD 7850 was the best bang for buck.

But i bet you get ram hungry eating games.
The most I've ever seen a game use these days is up to 2Gb of ram, so in the grand scheme of things, not much really.

The biggest killer on my system for ram is virtualization, when I maybe want to give 4Gb straight to a VM (but I don't have 4Gb to give it :( )

Mines Adobe After Effects. Avid Media Composer uses a fair bit, but after effects takes the biscuit.
While i have been able to work on 8GBs of memory, I think I might benefit with an upgrade.

ill bench mine when I get home, although i suspect highfly will beat me as im not willing to overclock my 690, although im first to admit ive done stupider things in the past, ie overlclocking mobile gpu's
