Cheers guys, had a few folk over on Saturday for drinks and Cards Against Humanity (which you must play at the next LAN 'cos it's twisted and awesome!), needless to say there were many hangovers yesterday :D
Part of the reason for the graphics upgrade though is to allow me to use 3 screen, the only 6850 I can find cheaper does have 3 outputs, but one is VGA and I really want all 3 to be digital. Thanks for the suggestion though :)
So having forced myself into an upgrade of motherboard, CPU and RAM (by being stupid and killing the SATA controller on my old one - long story!) I've decided to go with an Asus 7770. Seems like a good price, unless someone knows of an equivalent beast for less ;) Got my eye on a 3rd monitor...
I could well be interested but as they're no longer for sale I've got no idea what it'd be worth, I need to wait to find out how much I'm getting paid next week anway so I'll get back to you ;)
Not sure how I've managed to miss that this was in development, but I just found out about it the other day and it looks pretty awesome! Anyone else excited to see if it plays as well as it looks?

Bearing in mind I work for the company that provides all of the infrastructure that enables terrestrial broadcast, I can tell you for a fact that it's no even on the menu to essentially teardown the whole system, it's going to be a long way off if it ever does happen so grab your copy of THHGTTG...
Given that digital switch-over for TV has only just about finished, and DSO for radio isn't likely to happen before 2015 at the earlies, I can't see this happening anytime before 2020 at the very earliest, probably even much later than that. Plenty of time for fibre to become the standard and...
Nowt wrong with nVidia, though given a choice I'd still own a 3Dfx, wonder what Voodoo model they'd be upto these days if they were still being made ...
