The damage is a bit odd in the way you can slam right into another car with little to no damage but clip a wall and a wheel falls off. I just stayed out of the action and tried to go quickly in my slow cars.. apart from the one time i was ordered to take someone out :P

I'm not too bad at them, really depends on having enough time to get a feel for the handling and the tracks to allow for use of manual gears.

The highlight for me was coming flying around a corner to find a 350z (dex) barrelrolling all over the road and having to try and dodge it. Going to wipe all traces of the game and install again after all the autosave corruption as not having the choice of car i want is a bit annoying.

The logo should clearly be cracktiana in simple vector art form with the text overlay.

No idea... hadn't read up on how the host affected what cars are available. I'll definately be in then if i don't have to go back and spend 4-5 hours playing through the game first beforehand. Like all racing games having all the cars to choose from does make a fair bit of difference.

I like dirt2, but twice now the autosave file has got corrupted and no longer works meaning i have to start from scratch :( shouldn't have to always back up files becuase the games for windows live is fail :(

dirt 2 for £7.50 is a bargain, not sure if any of the others are really worth bothering with now though.

And i was struggling after 6-7 hours of a 1 day lan due to chronic fatigue syndrome, so a full on lan is just out of the question at the moment (nevermind having to sort out someone to look after the dog). As much fun as it would likely be.

Thanks for the lan guys, was nice to get out of the house for once. :p All in all it was as balanced as could be hoped, l4d just seems to be one of those games where a bit of luck/timing can be the difference between epic win/fail. I'll try to redeem myself with some all round shooting etc at...

In what way does css count as new? :P Is there a cutoff date/time i need to have paid by? I have ordered l4d2 and dirt2 from play and thehut.com respetively but would like to know they have turned up before guaranteeing payment. :)

Its the 'new' i'm more worried about as the only recent pc purchase i made was borderlands and that got boring really fast.

cod4/cs/tf2/trackmania are probably the only games i have up to date. I'll give it some good thought and maybe see if i can beg/steal/borrow some of the others.
